Today’s lecture started with to separate the class to groups, and each group sing a song together, and try to make it dramatic in a very short time. This activity makes me understand how to work as a group and the importance different role. That’s because everyone has different personality and design skills, that makes different group member play a different role, some one has leadership and some one has good analyze skill. To deal this issue, I think m group has a great “Division of labor”. I believe that is a reason why our work very effective and enjoyable.

However, in todays lecture, I understand that how important to create a persona, and how it affect our design work. It is effective as design tools, goals must always directly relate, in some way, to the product being designed. In addition, the first step for a user centered design process is to conduct user research. Through this we can learn about our users – their behavior, attitudes and needs. Personas are a common technique used to communicate findings from user research in a simple and accessible manner. They’re very useful as they can communicate this information quickly and in a fun way that will stick with the design team through the rest of the process, ensuring the user research is taken into account throughout the course of the project. The popularity of personas comes from the personalization of the user research data. It puts a ‘real’ face onto the sometimes rather dry results from user research.

However, during the video “Don Norman on the Design of Future Things, April 2008”, I feel very interesting about “wait in line” part. He said some business company make the “waiting zone” interesting to makes people feel natural and relax rather than feel “waiting” or “waste time”. I think this smart idea is successfully use people’s psychology, witch is especially don’t like wait in line. These small simple ideas might bring a big change of business.
